Fascinating YouTube Video Series Documents Crisis on the Southern Border
Peter Santenello travels to Yuma Arizona with his GoPro and documents what the Mainstream Media won't tell us
The crisis on the Southern Border is difficult to fathom unless one actually experiences the situation for themselves. Unfortunately, many of us don’t have the opportunity to travel there and see it first hand.
That’s where social media comes in.
We live in truly revolutionary times where anyone with a phone in their pocket can share stories with the world, particularly stories that our mainstream media won’t share or obfuscated for whatever reason. While social media has it’s pitfalls with censorship and toxic personalities, one benefit is that it can help us to see places around the world that we otherwise would not be able to experience.
There is a niche of YouTube travel vlogging channels where people film videos in various areas of the world to give people fresh perspectives on their cultures. One of the YouTubers in this niche is a man by the name of Peter Santenello. He’s gone around the world from Alaska to Compton to the Middle East, and shared handheld vlogs from these places with his 1.5 million followers.
One recent series he filmed involved going directly to the Southern Border in Arizona to document what the mainstream media and our politicians fail to show us. He traveled along the border with people who live and work in the area, giving us footage from the ground and allowing his guides to share their stories of what’s really going on.
In his first Arizona video, he spends a day with a Yuma County sheriff giving us exclusive access to how the situation on the border is handled by Border Patrol and local law enforcement. Sherrif Wilmot talks about how the Biden Administration’s policies are destroying law enforcement’s ability to handle the situation and described how this Administration’s policies differ from the last (Trump’s).
It was fascinating to watch Sheriff Wilmot bring Peter along the border roads and find all kinds of international money, identification cards, and debris littered on the access roads by traveling migrants.
Sheriff Wilmot also tells of how the Cartel operates their human and drug smuggling operations. It’s fascinating information showing deeper truths about what’s happening with this humanitarian crisis.
In Peter Santenello’s second video of the series, he travels with former Daily Caller journalist Jorge Ventura to discuss Ventura’s reporting on the border situation.
One highlight of this video was when Peter was talking with a local Yuma resident and the resident describes how when U.S. Senators made a recent trip to the border in Yuma, everything was cleaned up and there were no migrants coming over the day. It was absolutely nothing like normal - all done for the photo op.
”How did the Cartels know not to bring anyone to the border that day?”, the resident questions.
A very good question, indeed.
I found this series fascinating and was inspired enough to share it in this Substack article in hopes that you may get some more insight into the border crisis like I did watching it. It’s truly a travesty what’s going on down there with the trafficking and Cartels taking advantage of it all. Hopefully we can get spread enough awareness about the crisis to actually get our elected officials to do something meaningful about it.
